Sorry to hear Margarine is gone, ROL. I know she must have left a hole in your heart. I have been there myself and I know what it feels like. But she had a good life with you, she was loved, and cared for and photographed as much as a human daughter would be! :) I found that, once the sharp pain of the loss eases, it makes room for all the joy, fun, love that these wonderful little friends give us to came back to mind and bring a smile every time.
As for the little dormice, they know, of course. Their nose is as good as that of their predators and they have known all along that she was ready to go play and chase in the Great Hunting Grounds in the Sky.
I love the light shining through the ears.

Sad to learn that Marga is gone, Roland. They become members of the family. It seems the mice wasted no time. Nice photos of a difficult subject.
