Petites Nymphes à corps de feu (Pyrrhosoma nymphula)
le mâle en haut tient la femelle par le cou par une sorte de pince
Etymologie : pyrrhosoma = au corps de feu
Taille ; 3 cm ~ de long pour une envergure de 4,5 cm
Visible : d’avril à août
Alimentation : chasse à l’affût des petits insectes
Reproduction : L’accouplement a lieu de mai à août, le mâle attrape la femelle par le cou, grâce à une sorte de pince à l’extrémité de son abdomen. La femelle recourbe son abdomen pour mettre en contact son extrémité avec l’organe copulateur du mâle. Cette posture d’accouplement appelée tandem a la forme d’un cœur.
Remarque : le mâle reste lié à la femelle durant la ponte qui a lieu dans l’eau, sur une plante aquatique.
