Where Eastern Bluebirds (Sialia sialis) spend the winters

Where Eastern Bluebirds (Sialia sialis) spend the winters
I watched two bluebirds fly into and out of theses hollows.
In underground hollows of exposed roots is where they are surviving the long cold winters in Michigan.

In our old neighborhood in Romeo some stayed. One of our neighbors fed them mealworms all winter long, that is why I was able to watch them fly in and out of the burrows under a clump of maple roots during the winter.
