Doerthe club has replied to Tanja - Loughcrew clubDer weisse Hintergrund ist unsere Garagenwand und da das Kolibriweibchen so winzig ist, eignet sie sich ja gut dafuer. Die kleinen Trinkoeffnungen sind 3 cm im Durchmesser, daran kann man die Groesse des Vogels gut beurteilen. Seit wir hier wohnen haben wir jedes Jahr ein Weibchen, die zu uns kommt, ich nehme an, es ist immer das gleiche. Die Maennchen sieht man eigentlich selten, das Weibchen jagt sie weg, denn die Maennchen helfen bei der Aufzucht nicht.
Doerthe club has replied to bonsai59 clubJa, der Fluegelschlag ist 50 x pro Sekunde, und ihre Fluegel machen ein summendes Geraeusch, daher stammt der englische Name fuer diese winzigen Voegel (humming = summen). Ihre Fluggeschwindigkeit ist 54 km/h.
