Thank you, Majka. There are many more of these eagles now than there were a few decades ago. I even saw one less than 1 km from my house a few weeks ago, but I was driving, so no photo. :-(

... before even I saw your comment, that was my thought too: I'm glad Bald Eagles are more common than they were those few years ago ...
... but still iconic enough that an eagle sitting in a marsh tree 100 yards from a Chincoteague VA access road, attracted an actual traffic-stopping jam of spectators and photographers ...

... nice photo, and those pine limbs provide a strong element in the shot ...

Thanks, L.L.Wall. This pair of eagles has been nesting here for about 10 years. They had a nest in a nearby tree and raised several families there until it blew down in a storm, killing two of three chicks. They have been nesting in this tree ever since.
