Plönlein, Rothenburg o.d.Tauber

Das Plönlein (von lat. „kleiner Platz“), ist eines der schönsten mittelalterlichen Stadtbilder Deutschlands. Durch zwei wichtige Zufahrtswege, rechts aus dem Taubertal direkt von der Doppelbrücke her und links aus der Vorstadt von Süden, bildet sich ein kleiner, dreieckiger Platz, daher der Name Plönlein. Der dahinter liegende Turm ist der Siebersturm und stammt aus der Zeit um 1385, somit ein Stadttor des zweiten Mauerrings.

Wir hatten Besuch aus Kanada (die Schwiegermutter) und haben einige Ausflüge gemacht. Wir selbst kennen die Gegend ganz gut, meine Oma hat in der Nähe gewohnt.

An den kleinen Platz kann ich mich auch erinnern. War vor einigen Jahren mal in der Vorweihnachtszeit da. Ein Stück zuvor ist das Mittelalterliche Kriminalmuseum. Das fand ich spektakulär.

We had visited this beautiful town three years ago! Yes we can say it is one of the most beautiful medieval townscapes in Germany. Also a great city wall walking and the Blacksmith House was so beautiful!
