Yes this is the mere of Ellesmere here. There are other meres in this area including Crose Mere, Hanmer Mere, Blake Mere, Kettle Mere, White Mere, Newton Mere, Sweat Mere and Cole Mere, Fenns Moss, Whixhall Moss, Bettisfield Moss, Wem Moss and Cadney Moss The area is called the Shropshire Lake District, but bears no resemblance to the grandeur of the true Lake District.
