This castle was always lit up at night. In the late 70s, I used to drive the minibus from London University to Snowdonia for climbing weekends and this was a highlight on the long journey when not many places were lit up! I see from the map that the A5 now by-passes it! Probably just as well!

Looked up the history of this castle. Very interesting! Apparently involved in the anarchy after Henry I rule when Mathilda and Stephen were claimants for the throne. Beautiful shot.
