The two bridges at Atcham

The two bridges at Atcham
Two bridges span the Rive Severn here. The old bridge, built in 1774, and the new, lower bridge, which carries the old A5 across the river and was opened in 1929.
The old bridge is constructed of grey sandstone and has 7 round arches.

Thank you, Joe. The old bridge is almost as pretty as the one in Dumbarton! ;-)
I used a slightly slower shutter speed here, which caused the foliage in the foreground to be a bit blurred.

The old bridge is much more attractive. Too bad they are only interested in utility when they build bridges like this today. excellent photo.
