Colors are not this important - well, it´s a nice feature, but nothing which brings back the feeling with individual home pages like we had before the relaunch of ipernity. Well, I miss an option to enter an hex or a RGB instead of this colorswitcher - I use the same at every page (flickr, my homepages etc.), and it´s hard to select it with this colorswitcher. It doesn´t seem possible to get something like #5b4128 (RGB 91,65,40)... why didn´t you allow "brown" as a color?

Why are my favourites now have a black background, like a obituary? With this neon-yellow "Favoriten" - headline? I´m not a supporter of Borussia Dortmund, I don´t want to see this yellow-black - combination, at no way at something which was called "Favorites", I hate this colors of this club, I don´t want their colors on my pages in the "Favorites" - section. ;-(

And these sliding movement on the top... please make it possible to hide this block (which display the same photos like below of it in the "What´s new" - block?) - or to stop the movement by default (and maybe add a "start" - button so it can move if you want to see it sliding), but for the moment it looks like an commercial advertisement-wall with banners like on amazon etc - nothing I will like to see each time I open my ipernity tab.

In general I like the new layout, but this movement and these BVB - colors at the so called Favorites...

Completely agree with ' Kitchen Table Crafts': please give me back the old lay-out.
Why are you making a second Flickr with all these pop-ups, movements, black frames and colours.
This is a photo site and photo's should be the main subject !!

Don't like the new scrolling images on the news pg. -- could we at least have a choice whether we want our contacts' newest stuff scrolled for us or just appear as thumbnails like before? For the moment I've employed the use of an ad blocker to remove it, but I do hope the ipernity team listens to the unfavorable opinions about this new feature and gives us the option of seeing it or not. It's also a waste of space, besides being an eyesore, because the contacts' newest posts are shown again in thumbnail form further down on the same page.

Don't like the double exposure look of the profile photo either... What was the point?

Bigger thumbnails and fewer "what's new" items being visible.... Don't like it... Would rather see more thumbnails rather than bigger ones. Would also like the "what's new" stuff to actually show my contacts' new postings... I'm not sure what sorting method is currently in use, but more often than not my contacts' new postings aren't showing by newest additions. To actually see my contacts' newest additions I have to visit each one of them individually or miss out on their newest additions.

Please be careful Team, don't be opening up a flickr like can of worms by making unexpected and some may say necessary changes.

As it happens, I don't have a problem with the ability to change colours. I can see some folks might like this and it's fairly harmless as changes go.

The slideshow of recent uploads by contacts though I do have a problem with. It's annoying, makes the page run slower on some broadband connections and discourages people from actually visiting your photostream. I'd also like to know if people viewing images in this mode is adding to the number of supposed visits any given image has had?

I also don't like the way you've doubled up on the profile photo/icon. Either make it bigger or leave it small ... I really can't see the point of having it like it is now.

Don't get me wrong, change can be good. However, on the whole people like things that are familiar and comfortable. They get used to them, they become attached to them and they really hate it when someone comes along and makes changes just for the sake of it, which I hate to say appears to be the case here at least to a certain extent.

Remember there's an awful lot of truth in the old phrase: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I think if you had applied this test to most of the changes you've made whilst they were still just proposals, you may have decided they weren't necessary.

Please, please, please don't become another flickr. I thought I'd found a new safe haven in the aftermath of Hurricane Marissa, but today has left me wondering if that's really the case.

Good grief! Why make changes that really do not accomplish anything members want!! The rolling images is ridiculous, serves no real purpose except to annoy members. I agree completely that the news page is a disaster, not user friendly, and serves absolutely no purpose whatsoever for members. Ipernity should learn a lesson from Flickr. Remember, why so many of us left Flickr and joined Ipernity ...

So, a year ago I quit a site and moved everything over here because I didn't like a new, cluttered look that forced all sorts of new technology fanciness offering no benefit and making the page much less pleasant. Now, it seems, you guys are looking to copy flickr's success. I don't need or like the scrolling image, and my computer doesn't like processing it. It's not as bad as flickr's visual vomit, but it's much worse than what I had yesterday. Please don't go down this road.

The colour schemes are quite nice but not a very important addition. I didn't find any post on the larger changes to the news page / front page, so I'll comment on them here:

As many others have said, the "slideshow" on the news page really should be ditched - or give users the chance to turn it off or remove it, please. It's not very useful and it clutters the page, being on top of the page. It also makes the page load slower.

However, I like the revamped "They have visited you" and "Your contacts - what's new?" sections, which are the ones that are the most important to me. The slideshow only shows one image at a time so it doesn't give me a good idea of what my friends have been posting. The "Your contacts - what's new" section is way more important and relevant, and for now I do like the way it has been redesigned. I like the way you can extend it by clicking the " view more" link. Thank god there's no autoscrolling; I mean it, a big THANK YOU for this.

All the other stuff on the bottom of the page is good too. I just wish this silly, useless slideshow wouldn't take the most important section of my news page, a section on which I would like to see the visitor details and "what's new", as I used to.

You changed it already! The scrolling appears to be gone on my news page, and that makes the whole thing a lot better. There are still little aesthetic details I personally don't like, but I think I can live with them.

This is why I like you guys. You listen to your users and incorporate their ideas. Thank you!

and check the feedback, that is very positive and encouraging indeed. So far I have noticed
that you do try your level best to accommodate everyone and to try to get things just right
which is never easy. So thanks for listening to the feedback.

The "profile" picture, I am not sure why this has had to be changed, it reminds me so very
much of the flickr profile picture that if you did not "change" and make bigger then we had
this effect ~ it distracts from the picture itself ~ not all profile pictures will suit this change.

I am not sure either why we have to have favourites framed in black ~ and sincerely hope
that this is not a "lets test the water" with regard to "black backgrounds" which for most
who were on flickr ~ disliked very much indeed. I would not particularly enjoy going to
an art exhibition where everything was displayed on black ... its not pleasing to the eye
and hope that this please can be removed or at least we have the option to remove it.

Contacts latest pictures have always been a very hit and miss affair for me ... I find they
are not the latest in many cases and like others have clicked on my contact list to see
their latest update. This also lets them know we have visited them ;-) and many like
this notification. Which leads me to say ... that sometimes its good to see "who has
visited" but with this new layout ... for me it seems to make the page far longer ... and
was easier to see from left to right at a glance who had visited, and we do tend to
recognise our contacts profile picture ;-) this format I find a distraction and hope it
can be reversed to how it used to be.

Looks better.... Still would like that "moving frame" thing to be an option that can be enabled/disabled. Until then, an ad blocker will take care of it as I have no use for that feature.... It'd be nice to have the choice to either disable or enable it OR choose between contacts' latest photos being shown as a "moving frame" or as thumbnails. I'm sure some folks like that "moving frame" but, those of us who do not would surely appreciate having the ability to be rid of it.

I remember the promiss of ipernity team does not follow the flickr's look. Now I see flickr's behaviour for my friends' new photos. Please return back the old look. I spent about a week to move my 14000 photos from flickr to ipernity and what do I see now here? FLICKR. I hope you are just kidding. This is not a way how honest people are doing buisiness.

I was also initially looking for gray or black as the custom colour, but then noticed either of them wasn't an option, so in the end I didn't change the colours of my page at all.. :D Oh well. I like the option to change the colours, but what I most like about it is that the changes are very subtle, and the site still looks consistent because the custom colours affect so small parts of the member pages. I mean it's not turning into MySpace or something. That's good. Something to customize but not too much. What I forgot to say in my last post is that I like the look of the guestbook better now - it used to look like a separate add-on entity just floating there, very different from the rest of the page.

The news page looks better now that the automatical slideshow is gone. I would like the whole slideshow element gone though, if I could choose. The page looks like it needs some tinkering but it's so much more inviting without any "autoplay" elements.

Absolutely pointless. You'd do better to improve the upload and organize functions instead of this silly cosmetic junk. And it's spelt COLOUR . . . .

I kinda like the change.. I am very glad that rolling thing is an option now.. I did not like it, I suffer from inner ear problems and it was doing my head in! It also made my old computer run very slow! the news page is meah..ok I would like to see an option of just 1 new photo from a contact..

I really like the contacts page now...the layout is different but it will work.

Otherwise, I am happy we were informed about the change before it happened... all in all I can certainly live with the changes, after all life IS all about change and not being stuck in a rut!

I believe we all need to 'get over Flickr' it's done.. come here or go there, don't bring Flickr complaints to ipernity! Personally I don't care anymore, this is ipernity so lets just enjoy that!

Other people have also asked us to put only 1 new photo by contact on the main news page (rather than 3). That's a good idea and we'll do it quickly

We are also reconsidering the layout of the photos block of the news page to add space around photos. Probably something like the medium view of your gallery.

I really, really like the 'recently posted pages', and we can still choose 1 or 5 pics. the layout is nice, not too cluttered... something like that on the news page would be good for me anyway!

What next? Why not change the lay-out like Flickr does every month or so.

@Iperteam: For me all is fine, did not see black borders and other things users above were complaining; sometimes it is good to have not time to check the first version of a change ;-). Especially that the ugly background on the about box is now a neutral gray: Yea! And I do like also the new news-section, looks better and less nerdy than in the past.

wow, I really like the news page now... it's so much better. I like not having that big picture in the middle, but it was do~able if I had to... you got it spot on now! Great new look and very useable and I think friendlier...

as I read the previous posts, I am happy that the majority is not bitching! but being polite and leaving the other place out of it because this is not that place and we do really need to move on, it's been almost a year and ipernity just seems to grow and actually care about US, the people that paid for this!

This view is so much better than the first one proposed. It sits well stylistically, and is clear and easy for eyes. It's also functional. I'm also happy the slideshow is gone altogether and that it will be optional. Good news.

Delighted to see you've taken on board so much of what people have had to say. The 'You' and the 'News' pages look so much better now. Like the revamped (again) 'Your contacts - What's New' section ... having the white space around is so much than the black which you had on the earlier edition.

I like the idea that Ipernity is granting its members increasing flexibility in customizing their pages. Personalization allows users to more freely express themselves, both through their photos and the presentation of their pages.

At the same time, Ipernity is also maintaining a genuine dialogue with its members via its blog. Ipernity is listening to its users and responding rapidly to their feedback. Its quick removal of the moving images is one example. In my opinion, these developments reaffirm Ipernity’s desire to provide its users with a generally outstanding experience. I’m grateful that I found my way to Ipernity. If I have any regrets, it is that Ipernity was not the first photo site I had found.

To Ipernity and its staff, thank you for all that you do. For those who celebrate Passover or Easter, have a truly great holiday.

I like this website but Instead of spending time and resources to provide me the option of changing the color of two, small, insignificant parts of the my home page which I rarely look at, I would like you to provide me with information on which of my photos have be observed today. Thanks.

Please note that we have added more color schemes in Gray tones.

For a long time Members have been asking for the possibility to select their own colours as a form of Customising their Account pages.

What you gave is a start but why not allow other than the white background. I suggested ages ago the possibility to use Pastel shades of choice, a few users also asked for Black instead of White, it can't be that difficult for you to meet such requests.

Being more than a Photo fan as so many others are please think of our ideas too. We post Articles, Docs and Videos. Not everybody is interested in Groups either. I did not come from Flickr so have no idea as to how it was/is on that service.

Automated photo (News) displays should be selectable, none should be Default, those that want it can then turn it on by choice.

Mention was made above about how Ipernity appears in Internet Explorer contra Firefox.
They are very different, Firefox is without doubt the best of the two Browsers.
I will not try Google Chrome, my friend did and messed up his entire online experience, once installed Chrome cannot be uninstalled.

is there a way to change the colour in the groups I admin? Mine is kinda grey with white writing and I don't like it, I can't read the name of the group.... it's a small request.

How great!! As a Club-Member I can change colors of my sites.
BUT, it's only possible to choose colors on two positions (see picture).
This is absolutely bullshit .... only my opinion. Let me know, if I'm wrong.
