Due to technical limitations things are not as smooth as they could be but if you carefully read the following instructions, you should be able to transfer your sets without any problems.
To import a set go to the Flickr set page and click on "CLICK HERE TO START Flickr set importer" underneath the banner on the top of the album page.
For every photo of the set:
- if the photo has already been imported to ipernity it will be added to a similar album on ipernity;
- if the photo is not yet on ipernity it will be imported BUT NOT ADDED TO THE ALBUM. YOU WILL NEED TO RELAUNCH THE SCRIPT TO ADD IT.
This means that only one album may be imported in a maximum of two script passes.
Other important points:
- only photos are imported, no videos.
- only the first 2000 photos of a set are imported (it's the max number of items that can contain an album on ipernity)
- the cover photo and description of the Flickr set are imported as well;
- empty photo titles are now kept empty on ipernity (there was previously a bug, we fixed it)
- don't be afraid if you import a set already imported. It will not be imported twice.
Please tell us if you encounter problems or bugs.
Have fun!
The ipernity Team
Merci beaucoup.
(Mais, où est la traduction française? :-)
But what am I supposed to do with my giant sets of more than 2000 photos? Is there an easy way to import images 2001 and higher?
Team club has replied to CameronBut it'll need more time to improve this script.
Cameron has replied to Team clubThanks for your reply. :-)
At present, I'm importing the smaller sets (less than 500 photos), and I'm well content with how well and fast the script works.
If I'm lucky, there may be no need at all for me to import the really large sets (i.e. 2000+), because most of my photos appear in 4 or 5 sets, and most of the sets are below the 2000 limit.
Bye,
Cameron
of course it is the same with transferring 90 at a time ... quite time consuing to check all first
to mark private and then transfer or wait until they come over here and then quickly go through and mark private ;-) fun ...;-) but thanks I am greatful that you have put the time and effort into making this transition so easy for us.
One thing .. and am not looking at my flickr page of course right now ... but it is asking me
when I come to transfer my sets to change my firefox to ... not the 12.1 I think it is that
works a treat but mentions another one ... 14 I think ... but when I click on ok ... it brings me
to the ipernity page where it explains what to do .. but not reference to this new upgrade
which seems not be available .. is it just me that sees this ... is it a bug ... or are others
experiencing this ... will go back and see exactly what the number is but I am sure it says
14.
OK ... sorry, should have done this first :)
when I click on my flickr photostream up comes a box that says ..
"Please update GreaseMonkey plugin flickr importer to version 1.14"
underneath these words are the two options OK and cancel
if I press cancel and it just shows the 1.12 and I proceed as per normal
if I press click ok it takes me to: www.ipernity.com/apps/gm
not sure why this will not clear and comes up each and everytime I go to
transfer photos here, can you advise ?
Now I wanted to try using the Flickr.album.importer but find I do NOT get the " CLICK HERE TO START Flickr set importer " in Flickr, and now the Flickr.importer button is gone too.
I've tried it in Chrome and Firefox and no luck with either
What's happening? What can I do?
Thanks again--
???
i don't want to spoil your weekend so i can wait until monday. have a good sunday!
The first time this happened (Los Angeles County set), I went through and deleted duplicates and made the album manually. The second time this happened (Los Angeles City set), I left it as it was.
It seems that things can get flaky, with oddball and irreproducible problems, when web traffic is high. This seems to explain the problems I had described above a couple of weeks ago.
I am using a Mac computer running OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) - and using the current Chrome browser. I followed each step of the official ipernity instructions: FIRST I installed the Tampermonkey extension/addon. (Then restarted my Mac just to be on the safe side.) THEN I opened 2 pages and logged into both my ipernity and flickr accounts. But THEN ---
And HERE's the problem: the ipernity instructions say: "go to your Flickr photo gallery, click on the button "import to ipernity" underneath the banner on the top of the page" ---
Well guess what? THERE IS NO SUCH BUTTON ANYWHERE ON THE FLICKR PAGE. Not underneath the "banner on top of the page" (I'm assuming this means the official flickr banner) - NOT ANYWHERE!!!
I've religiously read all the posts in this help Forum. Apparently one or two other people experienced this problem. (Apparently they were Mac users as well?) Their issues were never answered/responded to. I've also written directly to ipernity, asking for Help, but so far haven't received an answer. So I'm taking the liberty of posting this here.
Would seriously appreciate it if someone, anyone, can give me some helpful suggestions to find this missing/nonexistent button. THANKS in advance!
Desperate in Oregon,
Miguel
What's up with this?
So--- my belated thanks to all the software gurus at Team Ipernity for getting the job done well!
It's working with a few odd bugs. I'm finding a handful of photos freeze it (the same photos each time) — I'll post again if I can find out why.

Flickr.importer To import all your photos from Flickr to ipernity (by batches of 90 photos)
Flickr2ipernity To import one by one your Flickr photos to ipernity.
Flickr.album.importer To import a Flickr set to an ipernity album
The Flickr Importer has not been updated since 2013. Apparently it was not an important feature for the former Ipernity S.A.. Now, as an independent club, we would of course be happy if someone could carry out a technical update.
Until then you can also choose an alternative import procedure described by Tobias Bauer.
