Hello all!

Here is some news before the week-end.

We are experiencing an exceptional situation at the moment with a huge amount of new users who have decided to choose ipernity to share their photos within a quality setting. We are very glad about this! We are doing our utmost to welcome this exceptional influx. Some minor slowdowns and malfunctions are still to be expected but this will soon be forgotten about very soon.

To be honest, here is the agenda of our small team (a total of 7) for the days to come:
- Consequently increase the capacity of our servers and the storage.
- Fix bugs that you report to us
- Do our best to reply in a timely fashion to your many messages!

Minor improvements to come:
-optional sharing on Pinterest and Tumblr (probably on Monday or Tuesday)
-permalinks for comments (in a fortnight)

Help transferring Flickr photos:
-import of albums (in the course of next week)

New functions:
- possibility of combining albums (something similar to collections)

Developer friends, we remind you that we have an API with which you can play around with and create great extensions for ipernity!

I can't seem to find an answer for this anywhere. Is it possible to add an image into a comment or to make a series of images. In flickr, we could select a size and copy and paste the html code into the comment. If this isn't possible, is it possible to retrieve the html code for a given image so I may write the command to do so?

great news about imporrting full albums, i finished tranfering all my snaps from Flickr but about 500 of them are "lost in translation" and it is a nigtmare to find out wich ones are missing... yeppee !

I just want to again say thank-you for all the time and hard work you have given to help us refugees find a home. I have worked over 30 years in the hospitality/service and retail sectors and believe me when I say that I can tell sincere customer service when I see it. Yes, a company needs revenue to survive, but more importantly it needs good word of mouth (the ONLY advertising that counts) and a loyal customer base. Little niggles and hic-ups are to be expected even with a staff of hundreds and I for one can live with those knowing that you care. Even this heads-up article shows how far you are willing to go to keep everyone informed and happy. And a thank-you to the long-time ipernity members who I see pop up again & again with answers and advice. Well done everyone!

o0o I would like to add my thanks to the team here for your enthusiasm and support
that is being shown, it is appreciated very much indeed ... have upgraded to class
and hope to slowly settle down to the routine here that once was available at flickr.
I have yet to transfer my photos over and do not have a clue ;-) pretty hopeless at working
that sort of thing out ... I hope it will be relatively easy, so thanks for the facility, just need
to work out how to ;-)

One thing if I might ask .. yesterday ... 4th June mid morning ... I could not access you
a blank screen and it read: www.impernity.com.dead . . . I was rather taken aback,
possibly you do this when you shut down briefly to do some changes, of course I
do not know, I am only just becoming active with you again, although I registered two
years ago with you. Was this something done by you or is it me that somehow !!!
had a problem linking to you ... thanks in anticipation of a reply ... I know you guys are
busy, thanks. o0o

Yes, the import of albums from flickr would be very welcome! I was importing by 90-image chunks, but somehow some images were getting left behind. It was time consuming trying to compare to figure out which were missing, so I stopped for now until there is a better way.

I have suggestions for the sharing capability.... Would it be possible to put access to HTML & BBCodes for photos right in that sharing bar area? Maybe to the right of the icons for Facebook, etc.? I, for one, access those codes a LOT and it's so time consuming to have to go to the "all sizes" pgs. for each photo I want the codes for.

Also, it would be so nice if the sharing features can be set separately for the photo owner & the photo viewers. What I mean is.... I'd like to be able to share my own photos via email, etc., but I don't necessarily want everyone to be able to do so. Would it be possible to set who can share what based on whether or not they're a contact or not? And to leave the sharing options available to photo owners at all times? Kind of the way notes and comments can now be setup for photos.
