Gelezen zal er over na denken !

Only a small percentage of members will read it and an even smaller number will make any comment, comments are always from the same group of members. Look at the youtube videos that have been produced to help promote ipernity how many have bothered to view them or give them a thumbs up to help push them up the ratings. In the case of the one I did 165 views 18 thumbs up and 7 comments it may not be very good but that should be irrelevant to members supporting the club

Does Ipernity have an official logo, button, image, etc which could be used as a link on a website?
Much like a f for facebook or a t for twitter or do you just use the name Ipernity, if so what font and size are considered appropriate?
If there is one does one need to apply for permission to use it on a website or indeed on communicating with anyone be on the internet or instagram or twitter etc.

There are such things.

1) As a downloadable icon with the official abbreviation 'ip':



2) As a written out logo with a slogan (available in 7 language versions):



However, this slogan shouldn't be used any longer. It was replaced half a year ago by: ipernity - your online photo club. You can see it in the banner of the above mentioned account: www.facebook.com/ipernity



For the logo, the font and colors are mandatory. It can be used with or without slogan.

"We recommend Firefox" ?? Een goed gebouwde website werkt in alle browsers. Ipernity niet. Dus: ipernity deugt niet. Maar dat roep ik al jaren. Het rammelt van de bugs, en er wordt letterlijk niets aan gedaan. Prutsers.

Ik gebruik al jaren een Chromebook. Nog nooit problemen gehad met welke pagina dan ook. Maar als ik de Chrome pagina goed begrijp heeft dit alles te maken met veiligheid en het feit dat alle pagina's https moeten zijn. En dat heeft Ipernity niet. Begrijp ik dat goed?

Du bist herzlich eingeladen, die ipernity - Seite responsiv und barrierefrei neu zu programmieren. um dieses Problem kurzfristig zu beheben. Ich freue mich drauf.

Inderdaad, dat is de kern van het probleem. Chrome is prima beveiligd, en het is natuurlijk te zot voor woorden dat je die beveiliging moet uitschakelen om ipernity te kunnen bekijken...

I am truly sorry for you, Erik.
Giving up is not an option for rebuilding and promoting a project like ipernity.
You can choose to help out or not.
If you choose the latter, I would just like to kindly ask you not to belittle the efforts of those who give everything and their best, as with that you are not doing yourself any favors.

Eric, unsere Webseite ist nicht unsicher, sondern nur in weiten Teilen unverschlüsselt. Das ist ein himmelweiter Unterschied. Siehe hierzu meinen Artikel The Power of Misused Words..

99,99 unserer Inhalte sind öffentlich. Sie zu verschlüsseln ist so wenig sinnvoll, wie Müll im gepanzerten Hummer zur Abfalldeponie zu fahren. Unsere 0,01% an sensiblem Traffic sind allerdings sehr wohl verschlüsselt. Alles, was sensibel ist, ist bei ipernity sicher. Unsere Webseite wird außerden in den Standardeinstellungen von Chrome vollständig und korrekt wiedergegeben. In dieser Hinsicht gibt es kein Problem.

Das ima-team hat oben lediglich den Benutzern von Drittseiten einen Rat gegeben, wie sie eingebettete Inhalte sichtbar machen können, die Chrome unterdrückt. Eigentlich ist das nicht einmal unsere Angelegenheit. Tätig werden müssten die Webmaster dieser Seiten, indem sie auf Googles Willkür reagieren und andere Einbettungsroutinen für mixed content verwenden.

Dass so etwas geht, beweist Googles Erzrivale Facebook. Dort erscheinen alle eingebetteten Inhalte von Ipernity auch im Chrome-Browser. Du kannst Dich bitte selbst an Hand meines privaten Facebook-Accounts davon überzeugen: www.facebook.com/bernhard.westrup.5

We currently know of only one bug, which most likely has its cause in the ipernity software, and which we have not yet been able to fix (even with the help of highly paid IT specialists): The malfunction of the 'replace' function, which is really not nice. But there has recently been an association member with IT skills who wants to help us. (See 2021-09-03 Club News, point 5).

The malfunction in notifications is due to refined security procedures of providers belonging to Microsoft or 1&1 (hotmail, web, gmx). And the Chrome browser malfunction described above is because Google has modified the browser's default settings. In both cases, it is not the ipernity software that is defective, but external web service providers making upgrades that deliberately disadvantage old software.

To remedy the first problem one would have to reprogram the ipernity mail server. If you pay for that and find a company that will take the job, we can get started right away. To remedy the second problem, we would have to reprogram our website encrypted from scratch. We are saving up for that. At the end of the year we will probably have just under 30,000 euros in our coffers. But that's only enough for a down payment. The subsequent ongoing programming costs are not yet covered. We are talking about a total of 70,000 to 100,000 euros.

Sami has not left ipernity itself, Diane.

He was not only a deserving member of the ima team,
and a very dedicated group administrator,
but is also an inspiring photographer.
But most important, also from my point of view,
is that he is fine.
I sincerely hope that our joy at this will soon overcome our sadness,
and that we all will thank his generosity with our own joyful generosity to him and his family.

We are all missing Sami, but we really appreciate the continued efforts made by Team Ipernity. The slide show is superb.

Sami Serola has not ‚resigned‘, but after 4 years of a very intensive commitment, he retired in a highly responsible manner after the last general assembly (IGA2021). He hasn’t left any open construction sites behind, but has neatly completed all projects. His account still exists, his documented wealth of knowledge is still accessible to all of us.

Sami was one of the 6 founding members of the Ipernity Members Association (IMA) in February 2017. Although he is not an IT specialist, he successfully performed the mandate of webmaster during the first two years of the recovery. This is because he was and still is an excellent expert on our website. In numerous blogs he has eagerly shared his knowledge with all of us. Many have gladly sought advice from him. After handing over his mandate to Rob Stamp, he worked as an advisor especially for updating the completely outdated FAQ and cleaning up among the large number of abandoned groups. He was a very good team player and an excellent advisor on improving the user experience in 2019/2020. In addition, he was a great support in organising and running the annual general meetings.

All this, in addition to his professional work as a teacher at the University of Tampere and his duties as a family father, has often stretched him to the limit. It is more than understandable that after 4 years of great commitment to our project, he would like to devote more time to his family again. This can only be done by consciously reducing his online time, which he is doing right now. We in the ima team also miss him. But we know that he is fine. And that is the most important thing.

Living means letting go again and again. Letting go means getting oneself back. Sami gets more space again for what else is important to him. We get the chance to fill the gaps he leaves anew. Just as we filled the gaps left by Christan Bucher, Claus-Peter Unterberger, Don Sutherland, Eric Desjours, Lutz Petersen, Pam Johnson and Rob Stamp.

Our project has been a community project from the beginning. While it needs the commitment and leadership of individuals, it needs even more the optimism and support of many. As long as there is, it will continue.

With this in mind, we hope that some will now come forward to continue Sami's various projects with vigour: The Group Deletion Project, serving on the Ambassador Pictures jury, but most of all, taking care of social media, which we ask for in the article above. We as the ima team are counting on you. This is your website. Go for it!

Thank you for this good commentary, especially regarding Sami. I'm frequently guilt-ridden that I have no skills to help Ipernity in "the back room." I honesty wish I could contribute more than a few modest photos. All the best to the Team!!!
