Dear members and friends of ipernity!
1) Our first online General Assembly was a success. As per the statutes, we make the minutes of that meeting available, and choose to make them public, and not restricted to club members. For archive purposes a complete sequence of screen captures of the comments in the discussion was saved in a PDF file which can only be opened by club members. However, the Welcome! discussion can be viewed by all.
2) The subscription page has been revised, accessible via “Prices” in the footer. Club members will only see the two renewal options. Others will also see one of the offers depending on your ipernity ID number, which is used to determine whether you registered before or after 1 December 2018, and thus which offer is accessible.
3) We have advanced the update of the FAQ, with the completion of the English version. Please use Help & Contact from the footer to take a look. With this in place, we can proceed with the translations, which will refer to the same screen captures that are for guidance and do not need to be language specific. Please contact us if you would like to help with those translations to FR, IT, ES, PT, NL. In the FAQ work group you can see how the process is coordinated. With the German versions finished, you could work from that rather than the English.

raingirl club has replied to Guido Werner clubFred Fouarge club has replied to Guido Werner clubWe do not know user's passwords, and cannot give a reminder, which the title might imply, but the instructions do say the password will be reset.
The old topic title was, "I've forgotten my password", and we wanted to phrase all the FAQs as questions.
Can you please help by providing a new title.
Thanks, Rob
Just curious about the progress in the fundraising for the reprogramming of Ipernity and the actual number of Club-members.
We have 1333 club members. The count of free users is 21,565
Bernhard will process any new payments on his return on Monday.

WIR sind ein Verein/ein Club. Da ist Nähe angebracht. Vertrautheit.
it makes little sense to stare at the figures every day because they are subject to major seasonal influences (holidays, weekends, vacation periods) and because there are no comparative figures from the past. Much more revealing are the trends, which we have a good eye on and also publish now and then:
Please understand, however, that we cannot make a complete evaluation every week. Because ipernity has no tools built in. Everything has to be analyzed separately. In addition to the information Rob has already given, I can tell you that the number of payment accounts is still increasing. We're currently at 1,337, so we can be confident that by the end of this month we'll be +100 above the all-time low of 1,240 accounts on August 01, 2018.
As far as active/inactive accounts are concerned, it is a question of definition. There are users who are active, but also take a break for a few months. The transition is fluid. Of course, based on the database extracts, we can analyze exactly what percentage of users were active in the last week, in the last month, in the last year - whatever period we want. Every now and then, as ima team, we also look at such things when they are relevant for decision-making. But we haven't seen any benefit in publishing such details yet.

Jaap van 't Veen club has replied to Team clubthis topic has indeed already be mentioned but I appreciate that you are raising the topic again. I am convinced that there are quite some members who in priniciple would be willing to support other members by donations. But I see some practical issues that would have to be discussed.
For example I am not sure how many paying ipernity users really know free users that they are sure can't afford a paid membership. I have taken a look at my own contact list and at comments on some photopages I have visited. I have seen almost only other paying members and I don't know any free member personally. So how shall I identify free users that can't afford a payed subscription?
In my view it is very important that the willingness to donate for other users is not abused because otherwise donations would cannibalize ipernity's revenue. For a photo sharing community like Ipernity where members are the owners of the site it is in my view of utmost importance that every member contributes to the success of the site within their own possibilities.
There is the offer for free members to maintain their current free account with up to 200 visible photos for only 10 Euro for another two years:
www.ipernity.com/blog/team/4718928
I am convinced that even most users with low budgets could afford 10 Euro for two years. So the question is: Why should I donate for users who even aren't willing to pay 10 Euro for two years? Or how can I identify those users who really can't afford these 10 Euros?
Another idea could be to donate the difference between the 10 Euro and the price for a basic account. This way the users recieving the donation would at least pay a small own contribution and document the willingnes to support the community.
But the question remains how such kinds of donations shall be organised. I don't think that discussing this topic in comments below News Flashes will solve this question as it is very difficult to follow a discussion spread over several News Flashes. Perhaps those users who want to encourage mutual donations of ipernity members could start a specific group on ipernity that is devoted to this topic and where discussions can be held in a more structured way. Would you be interested to start such a group?
Off course, every member who knows another member who deserves a donation already can donate a club membership. There is a link on the start page of every free account.
raingirl club has replied to Guido Werner clubThanks for the link to the 10 Euro offer. I was just trying to come up with something that I might try and tastefully mention to free users I come across (whose photos I am on and commenting on) about our need for financial support. now i can use that link to help me with that. not sure of the wording yet - it would be just from me, so i don't have to go through committee, but i do want to be helpful, not pushy or hurtful to anyone. (i will be sure to carefully go over my words before i bring it up with any free users.) i just think there are probably still plenty of users who are unaware of our current financial challenge - and so i think any of us who can help spread the word would be great.
as to how to keep talking about this specific topic of giving memberships to people who can't afford it - there already was a group created to do just that that Sami Serola was a part of. it was geared towards a photo 'contest' to try and earn a membership with group members paying the costs once or twice a year for the winners. anyway, the group is officially closed, but Sami left it half open for discussions to continue. perhaps that would be a good place to talk about this now - there may be some old members of that ready to support such an endeavor again. the group is: www.ipernity.com/group/winclub
i'd love to see us messaging free users individually to let them know about the 10 euro offer and let them know of our financial need. if you want to message me about this you can (i agree it's hard to follow discussions in these news blogs).
