They are petunias - so sorry for any confusion...
The sun came out today, well this afternoon it did and it was lovely and warm. I looked outside and saw how long the grass was on the lawn - this meant I had to get out there and see to it. Before I went out I remembered that I'd fancied having pulled pork for supper tonight, instead of just a normal roast. As it takes 6 or so hours to cook, I put it in the oven before I went out.
I got out the hover mower and collected my chair and proceeded to cut the grass. Boy was it long - also apart from being over-run by daisies there was loads of yellow lesser trefoil - I looked it up LOL. Boy was it multiplying everywhere...
So after several stops and starts with the sitting down every now and then, the lawn is now cut. Whilst I was out there, I saw a newbie again. This time it's a poppy.......
it's orange so it can't be an Icelandic poppy, so maybe it's a Californian poppy. Whatever - it's all on it's own and looks gorgeous amongst the green mombretia.......
There were lots of poppy seed boxes just full to bursting to open up the flowers inside, so there'll be a lovely lot of colour for a while......
The aqualegia has now finished in places but the seed pods are beautiful even empty - look at the millions of hairs on them.........
I had a look towards the apple tree and now the blossom has vanished - I wanted to see if any apples were starting to form........
You can see the tiny apple just starting - couldn't see many, but there again they are small and the sun was out and I wasn't standing too close......
Well I can smell the pork cooking and it's divine. I think I'll have roast potatoes with it and some Russian salad, not too sure what to have for dessert but maybe I'll have some ice-cream to cool me down. It's looking as if this lovely sunny weather is set to stay for the weekend - so tomorrow I'll be planting out the petunias and the fuschias. Sorry again about the confusion.............. LOL
Today here was partly sunny but windy as usual so only 4 photos, they can wait until tomorrow.

It was dull and miserable all day Saturday, though today (Sunday) is looking good. Hopefully the garden will start to dry out a little. All that's thriving here are slugs, snails, and weeds.
