My Christmas was a very quiet one, as you might imagine - being on my own. I did try and make a roast beef dinner, but the enjoyment went out of it - having it just for me - but as per usual - the beef has been enjoyed ever since in various disguises!!!!!

Apart from today - I was visited by Richard from next door, and he brought a couple of portions of turkey. Apparently he had been given a few portions that were left over from a friend of his, who is a chef, and he decided to put the portions into microwaveable tubs. So I was very kindly given two of the portions. I must say - it was a wonderful gesture - and I cooked it as per instructions (written on the lid!!) and it was delicious, even though I could only eat half of it. So guess what I'm having for supper tomorrow night!!!!!! LOL

Well I've been making more epoxy resin pendants etc, every day - I'm having a whale of a time making them and I'm getting better at it. Other times of the day, I tend to watch the webcams of Westward Ho! - as it's the only way I can see the sea. It was only that one time in September that I saw the sea and it was marvellous. Well one of the cameras is focused on the outdoor swimming pool. Yesterday was extremely cold and very, very windy (Storm Bella arrived!!!) and to my amazement I saw some people swimming!!!!!!!! I assumed they were wearing wet suits - but no!!!!! The daft things were just wearing their usual swimming costumes!!! They didn't hurry getting out of the pool, neither, when they finished. I know it's probably good for you, but honestly - swimming on 28th December in the middle of a storm with freezing temperatures isn't my idea of having a good time!!!

I have a small video of the weather and the waves, which I took about 7 years ago - it was really good fun sitting there when the temperatures were decidedly warmer...

We did have fun watching this man, dither about, whether to go in or not!!!

Then there was another video of the many waves etc, taken around the same time...

It was great fun watching others getting wet, whilst I was fine!!!

I do miss sitting near the sea and hearing the waves and smelling the ozone. Mind you, even if my car was working, I don't think I'd have ventured outdoors today - it was so so cold.

I hope you have all been keeping safe. I also hope you all had a good Christmas, and now you have the New Year's Eve to think about. With this other strain of the virus being rampant, 70% more infectious than the original virus, it's very scary to be outside. I have an extremely small "bubble" of neighbours and Emily, so I'm hoping that I'm safe. I'm just waiting for this vaccine to be given (also the flu jab) and then I won't have to worry about anyone or anything coming into the house.

So folks, all I want to say is Happy New Year and let's all cross our fingers (or anything else we've got to cross) that 2021 will be much better than this last one. Take care my friends, and please stay safe.
