I'm so sorry to have taken so long in writing a blog - 3 weeks!!!! The reason is mainly that I've been busy making summer beach bags for Mandi and I - but I've also bought some more material which will make a super bed throw, in fact probably 2 bed throws!! It all depends on how things go here.
Today, being a Friday, my cleaner/now friend, came and she commented on how lovely the primroses were looking on my drive!!!!! "What?" I said - and she repeated her words. Immediately I asked her if she would help me get my rollator and I wanted to see this for myself. I hardly go up the drive these days, because the weather hasn't been nice enough to go out in, so I hadn't noticed the springtime blooms coming up.
We walked up the drive - well she strolled and I walked as fast as I could and as soon as we turned the corner of the drive, I saw the primroses......
Oh I was so happy to see them - I also noticed how many bluebells were going to come up - there were so many plants, not only on the sides of the drive, but also right down the middle....
Pippin followed us - but at a distance - he's still not too sure of Emily - I suppose it's because she only comes once a week, and he's usually out when she comes.
I'm going to have to check up on the driveway methinks - or wait for Emily to come and walk with me. She'd been an angel and had popped up to my doctor's surgery to collect a blood pressure monitor they were lending to me. I tried to take a blood test on myself later on today and boy it is extremely difficult, to get the cuff on your arm and then press the button to take a reading!!!!
I so love primroses, not only because they're really pretty flowers, but they signal warmer weather to follow, they also indicate that soon my garden will be full of colour and the trees full of blossom - fantastic.
This is what the middle of my driveway looks like - it's full of promises of flowers and colour. You can just make out a fig in the middle at the bottom. My fig tree is one of those strange trees which produces the fruit before the leaves and then the fruit ripens and then falls off.
On my way back towards the house, I saw this flower - now I've noticed this flower, many times, but hadn't realised it had actually become a tree - a thin one obviously, but a tree nevertheless. I thought it was called "May" but it shows that it was out in February so unlikely to be called May!!!!
So if anyone knows what this flower/tree is called, please let me know. It was a tad chilly being outside, I forgot to put my coat on!!, but so nice to have some fresh air in the lungs.
I'd really like to buy a new car (well new to me) but I'm not sure if I should get it before I go to Turkey, I don't want it to stand on the driveway for 2 months without moving. So maybe I should get one on my return, but there again, I'm missing out on some lovely sunsets, by not being able to get out. Ooooh decisions, decisions!!
I wish you all a wonderful weekend - I'm going to try and get the beach bag finished, well almost finished!!!
Another wonderful day - so I went for a walk!!!

Your cleaner/friend sounds like a treasure.
No idea about the tree, sorry, though it's very pretty.
Jenny McIntyre club has replied to Bee OrchidSpringtime is my favourite season too - not only because it means warmer weather is on its way, but because of the myriad of colours it brings

When are you going to see Mandi? If its just a month or two I'd wait to look for a car. But keep an eye out. You nevernknow when a deal too good to pass may appear!
Jenny McIntyre club has replied to GracieAs for the car business - I have asked Emily if her husband (who's a garage mechanic) could keep an eye out for a bargain for me. All I ask is that it's automatic and a largish car, as I feel safer in one of those, (apparently they are cheaper to buy because people don't want to have big engines eating up the petrol/diesel.) whereas I don't go far so it won't be a problem.
