Typical - we were going to cut the lawn yesterday, but neither of us felt well enough to do so, so we promised to do it today - it's been raining all day!!!!!!!!!! The first rain we've had for a week. We couldn't do it on Monday because we had visitors, nor Tuesday because we had to go to Exeter, nor Wednesday because we had a trip to the doctors - so Thursday was earmarked for the cutting of the grass. So here we are Friday and it's all wet, meaning we can't cut the damn grass!!!! Never mind - Pippin looked good in the grass. He'd spotted something moving among the leaves and went into stealth mode!!! It didn't last long though!

Now a lot of those leaves in the flower bed are belonging to flowers - so my garden isn't as bad as all that!!! Whereas my lawn has got a lot of overgrown grass - warm sunshine and rain will do that!!! Last week Mandi cut the lawn for me, because I can't manage it on my own, so she promised to cut it again before we go to Turkey.

She is getting better thank heavens. She's relaxed and much healthier now. Her doctor is quite happy with her, and another couple of weeks here before we go to Turkey will suit her. She's cooked me meals every day and she's very good at changing how we portray certain foods in a different way. So you never know what meal we'll have - I think I've only had the same meal twice!!!!

This morning I opened the lounge window and was so pleased to see that the laburnum is flowering - the apple blossom, lilacs and cherry blossom have all gone over now, so it's just the "yellow rain"....

Now the laburnum is at the end of the top lawn, with so many wild aquilegia plants dotted about all over the place. I say wild, because I didn't plant them - the wind and birds have done all that for me.... they come in so many different colours - pink, pale pink, dark purple, blue - a sort of white....

As you can see these are just the ones I can see by looking out of the lounge window - there are many more of these wonderful flowers dotted around the place...

Another wild flower that has just suddenly appeared this year is the Himalayan Honeysuckle - now I have a large tree of it in the driveway, so where this one came from - who knows??

So far this is only about 4ft high, so I must keep an eye on it, otherwise it'll grow too quickly to keep at a decent height.

Oh well, I'm off now to sort the kitchen out. I hope you all have a great weekend - I'll be watching the Monaco F1 Grand Prix, which will keep me glued to the screen for a couple of hours - before we try and cut that damn grass!!!
