My neighbour Yvonne treated me to an afternoon out to a Royal Horticultural Society garden near our town, called Rosemoor House. I've wanted to go there to see the gardens for many years now, but as I've become more unable to walk, I thought I'd never get to see them. Well she pre-booked a mobility scooter for me to use and then she came round to pick me up and whisk me off.

Oh wow - what a fantastic place - I actually took over 250 pictures - I was clicking away like a demented dervish!!!!! I'm not sure of how many gardeners they've got, but they're doing a fantastic job. There are 65 acres which are absolutely stunning.

This is the main house where you can stay for a couple of nights - but it's quite pricey.

The house and all it's acres were given to the Royal Horticultural Society, by a Lady Anne Palmer, who had started to fill her garden with plants from all over the world in the early part of the 20th century. Now it's an absolute joy to behold and thousands of visitors go there to see its beautiful gardens and plants.

There are wild gardens, formal gardens, vegetable gardens, speciality gardens, woodland in fact any kind of garden that caters for whatever kind you want.

Yvonne had pre-booked a motability scooter for me and once I got the hang of getting it to move forwards and backwards, I was away. It was great fun and it meant I could see the whole gardens without any pain - wonderful.....

There's a lovely folly in the top of the garden, and to the right of it, was meadow - allowed to grow free, perfect for wildlife, with the odd path mown through it so you can walk around it and see the amazing array of wild flowers which the insects and butterflies absolutely love.

There were mown lawns with so many rhododendrons in flower. Trees of all shapes and sizes - typical English gardens, wonderful woodland and waterfalls with streams trickling through the many gardens........

As you wander around the many gardens, you also see formal gardens. In fact on the long borders, you could almost imagine ladies in crinolines and men in fancy clothes walking up and down - Pride and Prejudice gardens!!

There are lovely walkways leading you into heavenly little gardens.............

Then came my favourite place - foxgloves. I hadn't realised how much I loved them til I saw them all standing proudly, there in all shades of colour......

What a delightful show - I want to grow some now!!

There was a wonderful plant - couldn't see what it actually was but it was gorgeous.....

I mean isn't it fabulous? Then the rose garden came into view - another two weeks and it'll be absolutely stunning, there were so many buds on the many bushes. The garden introduced itself with a fantastic arbour gate..........

and it ended with a superb little thatched folly which shaded you from the bright sun...

and there were lovely little ponds with koi carp in them -

To be honest I think I took over 250 photos, I haven't put them on here for obvious reasons - you'd all have fallen asleep by now!! lol. I just wanted to show you this wonderful piece of paradise I discovered. I am indebted to Yvonne for taking me there. We are going back again in a couple of months to see the autumn flowers.
