Here's what I'm thinking:
It's a marketing tool. Capitalization of letters represents structure, rules, and in turn, authority. Keeping everything lower case suggests things are fun and informal.
This may be nothing new to you, and although I noticed before that these services did not capitalize their names, I only really thought about it when I saw all the names side by side and realized that nobody did it.

facebook, myspace, twitter, flickr, and yes even ipernity, all do not capitalize their names in their logos.
