I identify in the poems of "THE TERRACES OF THE MOUNTAIN" a terrestrial nostalgia that reminds me the poet Teixeira de PASCOAIS. The Algarvian hills may not be as high and stony as the Marão Sierra, nor the streams and hallows so fast, but the creative emotion influenced by the elements of nature is there as an unvarnished whole for the convenience of the poet living with feet on ground.

Identifico nos poemas de "NOS SOCALCOS DA SERRA" um saudosismo telúrico que me faz lembrar o poeta Teixeira de PASCOAIS. Os montes algarvios poderão não ser tão altos e pedregosos como a Serra do Marão, nem as ribeiras tão rápidas e cavadas, mas a emoção criadora influenciada pelos elementos da natureza está lá toda inteira, nua e crua, como convém ao poeta que vive com os pés assentes no chão.

Ler o Fernando Reis LUÍS é ter o sol, as árvores, o vento, o luar, as pedras, as sombras e as águas na pele, e sentir um prazer refrescante que mata a sede de quem sonha ainda na / com a terra onde vive.
