You know you change your car too often when you can’t remember what make, model, or even colour of the car you are driven around in. Over the weekend I visited my parents, and finding a lack of car spaces, asked my Mother which car was theirs so that I could safely block her in. She had no idea! She couldn’t even remember what colour the car was! How can anyone be so blasé about their car that they don’t even know what colour it is? In the end, she came out and pointed out which was their car but I was astounded.
It didn’t help that I’d had a very stressful morning. At about 7.30 am on the Sunday, the dog had been in the garden doing his business. I went out to clean up and was horrified at the sight of a pool of blood. A quick phone call to the vet didn’t really allay my fears so it was off in the car for an 8 mile drive to the emergency vets. £75 lighter and carrying numerous medications for the dog I arrived home in time to settle him down and then go and pick up my son from his Dad. The dog has had a bad stomach before, but never this bad and I’m wondering what on earth he’s picked up. I genuinely though he was going to die! He seems fine in himself, wants food but isn’t allowed anything more than boiled rice, and has energy but man it looked bad on Sunday. Pet owners will understand…
Speaking of the ex, he dropped what I was worried would be a bomb shell to my son about him leaving, however quite frankly my son seems unfazed by it all. I mentioned that his Dad isn’t going to pay all the maintenance that he should so maybe next year in particular, money is going to be tight. I don’t like to bad mouth him, however I also won’t sugar coat things for my son and why shouldn’t he know that his Father has little or no conscience? The boy is no fool and if his Dad thinks that he’ll drop everything and get himself into debt just so he can visit, then his Father will be sadly mistaken. His Father has already stated that he has no intention of ‘wasting time and money’ coming back to the UK just to visit. Nice man…

Your ex sounds a "wonderful" person doesn't he? No don't sugar coat things for your son - I don't know how old he is, but if he's a teenager, then he'll certainly be able to work things out for himself. I never bad mouthed my ex to my children, but they did realise his failings. Didn't stop them from loving him though. Though he wasn't as blase as yours seems to be. In fact he was my best friend just weak with his new wife who was "Wicked Witch from the West"!!!!!
