After just 3 viewings (and 3 cancellations) the house we’re renting has been sold. They had 2 offers, one from a woman from an eastern European country, she lives over 170 miles away, her English was very poor, and she wasn’t going to use our agents – I was not thrilled and could foresee many language problems ahead. The second offer was made by a UK national and he’s buying the property with 2 others. He offered over the asking price – what on earth is going on with UK properties at this time? It’s ridiculous and if you’re not already on the property ladder, it’s not good news. He has a fairly large portfolio and lives just over 100 miles away. He and his partner seemed very nice; we just have to hope that they won’t raise the rent too much now. I’m still saving packing material, and time and a new contract will tell if we decide to stay. I’m not joking when I say this whole thing has been literally giving me nightmares, and whilst I don’t like to hold a grudge, I’ll never forgive my ex for leaving his only child, and me, homeless.
Speaking of; my son had his vaccination this week. His arm is very sore, and he has the mother of a headache, though seems in good spirits apart from that. I’m not sure how long he’ll have to wait for his second dose, hopefully not as long as I had to wait. As more and more people get vaccinated, the government has less and less reason to keep us gagged and distanced. I note that football matches, with spectators, are going ahead, so that’s all right then, and BJ is even kowtowing to the travel industry. All I care about is when I can ditch the hated face masks in work. They make me so hot, and I don’t talk much to others as I often can’t understand them. I frequently cite the face masks as the reason why I won’t do much overtime; after a 6-hour shift, I really do start to feel quite sick.
On the subject of work, we had a bonus this month. I’m not sure if it’s Covid-related, or a regular thing depending on the store’s profits, but bearing in mind I work part time, it was pretty nice. Cheered me up no end, especially as I have big car bills looming.
After much frustration with the TV – lag time, fuzzy picture – I bought a new Amazon Fire stick. What a difference! Mine was pretty old and a few times it warned me about lack of memory though what it stores is beyond me to be honest. The new one is so much better anyway, and my BF (is that boyfriend, or best friend? I don’t have a boyfriend by the way – who can be bothered with that!) has given me his ID and password so that I can trial a different streaming service for a while. Our old stick couldn’t handle another service, so this is nice of him and saves me money whilst I try it out.
Not much else going on. We have a week of peace and quiet as the agent is on holiday, and so is the buyer so that’s nice. My supervisor in work is on holiday soon, for a couple of weeks, so that’ll be nice too lol. Maybe I’ll get some decent sleep. I haven’t slept well in over a week. I love my bed, though after staying (alone) at my friend’s property, in a new bed with a fantastic mattress… I was so tempted to text him that I miss his bed LMAO but thought what if someone else saw his phone. He’d laugh, believe me he would, but his family? Not so much. I’m evil lol, but not that evil...
On that note I shall take my leave. Have a great weekend.

We dont have to wear the masks anymore as I mentioned. Unfortunately most employers make the employees continue to. I feel bad for them. I assume its to shut up the still too many who think it does anything. Many still wear it. I don’t know why they bothered to get vaccinated if they don’t trust it. I have been in a few places I was the only one without. I don’t care what others do, (never did) if its not required I wont.
Oh I'm the same. Once the government, and work, decide we don't need to mask up, mine will be off like a shot!
Yes I can't understand how some people can go all day with that mask on, I got overheated after just wearing one for half an hour when I had to go to the hospital for a check-up. Surely they can stop this mask wearing outdoors. If you can prove you've had both jabs, then you should be able to do a lot more. Make these people who won't have the vaccine have to pay by not being allowed to do some things, or go some places.
I never wear a mask outdoors. Wearing one in the supermarket for hours on end does make me hot, and I fervently hope we can ditch them next month though BJ keeps moving the goal posts so I doubt it will happen for months yet. I'd love for him to prove me wrong.
I i hope the house is sorted quickly it must be a worry
