After more job applications than I care to count, and several interviews, I finally managed to land a job! It’s in one of the big supermarkets, and a mere 2.5 miles away. I have an Induction day next week, hopefully paid, then I’ll be in training, after which I’ll be working 18 hours a week which is great – not too little, not too many; with my personal pension, I must watch my hours, so I don’t end up working solely for the tax man! It’s an early start, though considering I’m always awake early anyway thanks to my neighbours, then it’s all good. I prefer an early start to a late finish any day.
I’d had a group session last week on Friday and was supposed to have the interview the same day, but technical issues meant that didn’t happen. I had the interview Monday morning, and since then, I’ve been on tenterhooks. To start with it’s a temporary post, though they said if they like me, and I like the job, then it could well become permanent. The extra money at this time of year will be great, and fingers crossed for a permanent position.
So excited…

I'll find out next week how long it's for, though judging by the questions they asked me, I think it could initially be a 6-month contract. Will keep you updated.
Happy, happy :)
Hope you enjoy it - and don't get too tired !
Going back to work, even just part-time after a few months off, I found to be shattering for the first few days / weeks (the latter for a full time and mostly on my feet, after nearly a year with just drabbles here and there).
