This week some spit of a girl has had the pleasure of treating me to electric shocks. My son wanted to do it instead, but no, much to his chagrin, I thought I’d leave it to a professional to torture me instead lol. I have to say, I didn’t much care for it. In reality, I’ve had nerve conducive tests to see if I have any trapped nerves which could be causing my peripheral neuropathy. It was okay, if a tad unpleasant. It’s really weird watching fingers, hands, muscles, spasm of their own accord as a small amount of electricity is passed to them. Surprisingly, I’ve come away with quite a bruise on my arm where the technician had placed a transducer. I bruise very easily though didn’t expect to get bruised by this. The techie was very nice, kept apologising, and rattled though the tests quite quickly. Good job too as I was getting anxious about the car park. I do think it’s bad to charge people to use hospital car parks; in Wales this was recently abolished. Results should take a few weeks. If its anything like my blood tests, maybe I’ll get them in a few months’ time. I can’t help feeling that the neurologist is sitting on my results whilst he deals with his own patients in his London clinic…
The Ship’s Dog has been a little poorly and I suspect the heat has something to do with that. We don’t allow him to lie out in it, nor do we leave his uneaten food out, but he’s been out of sorts. Hopefully the forecast rain will cool things down a little for him to recuperate.
I’ve had some good sleep of late, swinging in my hammock – seriously, how do people get into those without falling out again? I’ve never tried one as they look difficult to master. The sight in my one eye has deteriorated again, and I’m wondering if it’s a side effect of the meds. I’m going to give it one more day, and if my eyesight is still poor on Thursday I’ll stop the meds for my ‘restless legs’ and see the optician (no pun intended). It’ll be a shame if I’m having a reaction to the meds (it’s a known side effect in rare cases) as they do seem to be helping me get some sleep. My kid sister and I both seem to react badly to meds and I was once was admitted to hospital, a number of years back, due to an allergic reaction to a prescription medication. I’ve had a bad reaction to certain anti-biotics too, and even aspirin. What can you do.
We’ve had some nice food recently, home made of course, including paella, beef casserole, and a gorgeous piece of pork loin on Easter Sunday from a local butcher who gets his produce from local farms. Tonight, I’m making cannelloni (I buy the pasta tubes). Next week the Deckhand is back to his studies after the Easter break. They’ve changed his timetable and now he has to be in 2 days a week for the whole day. It’ll make menu planning a tad more difficult as we’ll have to have food that can be reheated or made quickly as neither of us likes to eat late.
We’re forecast thundery showers for this afternoon and whilst it interferes with laundry drying, I suspect the garden will enjoy the rain. I won’t mind if it gets a little cooler overnight. Enjoy what’s left of the week, and have a good weekend.

I do hope your eyes improve. Its good to be able to sleep.
Gracie - It's ridiculous. I've had bloods done at a different hospital here and they were very fast but this is beyond the pale. I have a number to ring, which I'll do after Easter, but i shouldn't have to chase results like this.
Most medicines have side effects, fortunately not too many people suffer as a result, Like you I am one, I get the runs whenever I need to take Penicillin.
I agree, hospitral car parks should be free to patients/Out patients or at least certain areas.
We should have had rain for the past two days, but we've not even had Dewon the grass.
We had thunder, lightning, hail, and rain, 2 days in a row, then more rain, and it's raining Saturday morning. Once it starts, it doesn't know when to stop. Wish I could send some your way.
