Or more correctly, lack of. Apart from walking the dog, and shopping on Thursday, I’ve barely been out for days. It’s seriously dull here, no sunshine, and cold too. Thursday, we had misty drizzle all day long with very poor visibility. I haven’t been up the rigging with laundry for days, and can’t even be bothered whipping the Deckhand. Not that he’s done anything wrong, but he does like the attention to detail LMAO. When the weather is nice, I often take the Ship’s Dog for a second walk, or I’ll walk to the shops. This week? Nada. I know it’s winter, but how many days of dull damp weather can we be subjected to?
I’ve been watching The Mentalist on Prime, which is set in California, and I envy them their sunshine. Not so much the forest fires, but I miss the sunshine. I’m like a flower, I’m wilting without the sunshine…
Thursday, I mooched over to the local hairdresser. I haven’t had a haircut in more than 8 months. All I do is tie my hair back, and it gives me a headache. It also takes too long to dry when it’s long. I told the hairdresser where I wanted the length to be, got her to cut more off again, and to put in some layers, and she tidied my fringe after I’d hacked some off recently myself. I don’t have it blow dried, as I don’t like the noise, nor the heat on my hair. She did a great job and charged me £10. Good grief, cheapest hair cut I’ve had in many years! She’ll definitely get my custom again.
A recent highlight was a text from a friend, stating they’d seen something in the sales they thought I’d like, and they were posting it on. Intriguing! A week passed, and no sign of my gift, so I texted back, concerned it had been lost in the post. They confessed they hadn’t sent it yet. That text was a week ago, and still nothing. I know it’s the thought that counts, and I had said Thank you after the initial text, but what kind of person says they’ve bought you something, and 2 weeks later, still hasn’t sent it? It seems ill-mannered for me to chase it, again, so can only assume they changed their mind. Ho hum. It was a nice thought, I guess.
This week was the Deckhands first week back at uni. This week, and next week, they’ve changed the timetable and he has to be in, all day, for 2 days in a row. After the second day he was shattered, love him. Lots of homework, and working in large groups. A rude awakening after 3 weeks off over Christmas.
Not much else going on here. Both the toaster and kettle are ‘playing up’ – the toaster doesn’t, lol, and it takes ages to get a bit of colour on the bread, and the kettle is making an unseemly noise. There isn’t a combi boiler here, just a huge tank that takes ages to heat, which is costly, so I often boil a kettle to wash the dishes with. It cheaper than using the hot water tank, but it does put a strain on the kettle. Saturday, I might pop into town and see if I can buy new ones locally. Or not. Depends on the weather…
The weekend is almost here; have a good one, and if you have any sunshine, please send it my way when you’ve had enough. Thanks :)

Gracie has replied to Bee OrchidIn Western And Southern Denmark they've had Storm flooding twice with the water being 1.5 (about six feet) above normal. Because of it I have re-posted several photos whith sunshine.
If you need toast badly use your electric steam iron but don't put water in it.
John - It works after a fashion, just takes a long time. I also have a grill, so if it does die, I can still have toast. Love my toast...
Mickey - Must be worse for you then. I'd settle for below freezing if it meant sunshine too.
Stormlizard club has replied to Bee OrchidAnd againtoday Western Denmark is being blown away by another storm., here it is dark breezy and mostly dry.
