After recently having a credit to my bank account, and not knowing why, I asked my previous landlord to forward mail addressed to myself. I offered to reimburse him for costs. If it were me, I’d collect up the mail, put it into a large envelope, and mail it. He has taken the ‘trouble’ to print sticky labels with my address and has forwarded ALL the mail from the old place including ones clearly marked ‘Current Occupier’ that are obviously from the energy supplier, and mail from the TV licencing people. I can’t help feeling he’s being deliberately obtuse. I’ve texted him twice, and emailed him twice, to stop now as I’m having to relabel mail, and post it back with a note on the back stating ‘Do not forward.’ Breathe…
Thursday, I went for my blood tests; I took a book, and a drink, and settled in to wait. 10 minutes later, I was walking out having been drained of vital blood. What a service! It was a lovely small hospital, ample parking and seating, and well run. In contrast, my son had to have blood tests some months ago at a different clinic and was waiting 40 minutes, half of that time he was standing as there were no available seats. Now I must book my ‘health check.’
This week I was delighted to see a squirrel run across the top of my fence, jump onto the neighbour’s fence, then scamper up a tree whilst being chased by a magpie. Okay it’s only a grey, however I’ve never seen a squirrel in my garden before, not even when we lived in the country. Granted, we have a lot of trees here unlike our previous house where the local council seemed to delight in cutting down as many trees as they could get away with.
The dog has again been in pain, has meds, and we’re making him take things easy. I suspect he has arthritis in his neck, just like me. I’ve never had a dog reach this age before and I’m guessing there’s worse to come. It doesn’t help that he still has a ‘puppy’ brain and likes to leap about and even fight with me, but he can’t do it now without getting hurt. Typical; we move somewhere with lots of nice walks, and he can’t come with us unless we only have a short walk and go slowly. I bought him a nice padded dog bed to lie on to keep him warm and will need to buy him some meds from the pet shop to ease his joints.
I’ve been sitting on the fence re iPernity, and for various reasons, I won’t be here after the big clear out of ‘useless content’ at the end of September. I always hated it when online friends disappeared from a site with no known reason, so with only 2 weeks to go, I’m giving you the heads up as to why I won’t be here after the clean-up of content. I’ll be online again before then and will continue to comment on blogs until I’m locked out. In the meantime, I’m looking at other sites, but so far, nothing grabs me.
Have a good weekend. Hope your weather is better than ours; drizzly, damp, and cold.

Yes Magpies chase Squirrels because they eat the Magpies eggs, theSquirrels chaseand attack Magpies just because theyenjoy waiting in Ambush then jumping onto the brd and biting it.
Sorry to hear that you will leve us, butyou're the boss.
Have a nice weekend.
Squirrels! You can have the lot of mine! Nasty creature when there are many! They eat my flower bulbs out of the ground, the tops of my tulips and dig holes all over! Not to mention they get into the birdfeeder and scare the birds away! They have even come right up on my porch and tried to eat my Halloween pumpkin. While I was sitting there! Rodents! Ugh! In case you didn't guess, I'm not a fan!
Stormlizard club has replied to GracieGracie - Oh, maybe I'm wrong then, I just assumed if you didn't cough up and join, then your account would be deleted. Time will tell I guess. I could care less about my pics as I rarely post any.
Squirrels can be a pest, and I have a small scar from where I tried to rescue one a previous dog caught, and it savaged me for my troubles. Had to attend hospital for that and have a jab too. Nice to look at I think, from a safe distance lol.
I've seen meds with glucosamine in the pet shop. It's a middling price, and only one a day which is good as the dog won't take meds easily and frequently leaves his food. Pet shop has to be cheaper than the vets...
Stormlizard club has replied to Bee OrchidMy Squirrel(s) have never bitten me, they will take nutsand raisins from my open hand but Ido not try stroking them.
I will be sorry to see you go I have so few friends here now my mind is moving in the same direction
Your treatment at the clinic, is as it should be. It's such a shame that your Ship's Dog isn't as mobile as he should be. Had you thought of looking for a second-hand pushchair? That way you can go further in your walks, so he can sit in the chair when he's too tired to physically walk.
I doubt he'd go in it, and I'd have trouble wheeling around 4 stone (25kg) of dog anyway. Shorter walks seem the way to go now.
Sorry to hear to hear about the Ship's Dog. It is a worry! I hope you can keep him comfortable.
The post thing - may I suggest getting your mail re-directed, officially by the Royal Mail, there is a fee but then your ex-landlord would not be involved.
As I understand it, the "clear-out" is aimed at un-used content / absentee members in order to reduce server space and hence costs.
I could be here till December by the looks of things.
