After goodness knows how long, we finally had a dry day here on Sunday. Saturday was forecast dry, however we had thundery showers in the afternoon that left about quarter inch of water in the trough. We’ve awoken to rain again on Monday, and Tuesday and Wednesday are also forecast to be wet. Sunday was lovely though, and I managed to shin up and down the rigging no fewer than 3 times. Now, I have a huge pile of ironing to do. I also managed to pull a whole bucket of weeds though the Ship’s Dog wasn’t interested in helping me out. Normally, I show him a patch of weeds, tell him he’s a good boy, and he’ll dig them out. Sunday? Not interested! Lol

Sunday night I awoke a number of times – pins and needles in my hands, weird dreams about butterflies and bees in the house – thankfully went back to sleep very quickly, and managed 8 hours sleep swinging gently in my hammock. Good grief! Not slept that much in so very long. I must have been very tired. I still have dark circles under my eyes, though a few good nights like that would put paid to those.

Despite funny looks, and a memorable time when my (ex) colleague told me to stop talking, I talk to myself and if very busy, find it helps me to concentrate and put things in order when doing anything complex. I read yesterday, that despite what people say, it’s actually a good thing and psychologists did some tests on those that were told to talk out loud whilst completing a task, against those that were told not to talk, and the talkers did better. Apparently, it is good for cognitive tasks and helps one to concentrate. Good to know. They also suggested that sometimes referring to oneself in the third person can also be good, especially if you need to bolster yourself. Nice to know that I’m not totally loopy ;)

I’m off out later to battle the winds and rain, put the cutlass to scurvy dogs who irritate me, and get a few groceries in. When I worked full time, the shopping had to be done weekly, on the weekend, and it was often quite a chore. Now, I can shop when I want to, and don’t have to do a big shop in one go, and it’s so much easier for me. I don’t go too far, mainly to cut down on petrol costs but today I need to go out; a little cabin fever.

I have to say, and I may be alone, but I really don’t rate Windows 10. When using Word, I sometimes have to stop and wait for my typing to catch me up or else the computer ‘bings’ at me, and I notice words are missing. The network is appalling. I frequently wait 18 seconds when trying to access a page, and the message ‘took too long to connect’ is an all too frequent error. It’s NOT my wireless connection here because I did a test: I set up my son’s old laptop next to my new computer (which isn’t a cheap one!) and typed in, for example, BBC News. I pressed enter at the same time on both machines. My son’s very old laptop which is running Windows 7 connected almost immediately, my new computer times out after 18 secs. I frequently switch it off and do something less stressful instead! Honestly, despite the irritating fan noise from my son’s old laptop, I really wish I’d decided to use that instead of buying a new machine. Also, I can have nothing running, just the desktop, and ‘something’ is using 30% of my memory. WTH? I hate Windows 10 with a passion and as soon as they bring out another version, I will be upgrading. I was sent a customer satisfaction form to complete about the new computer and OS, and the shop I bought it from. Neither of them received a good review from me. Sorry, rant over lol.

Have a great week. Hope it’s not too wet, nor too hot as in some parts of Europe. Personally, I blame Brexit LMAO!
