We’re having here what some call Yo Yo weather; one day high winds and heavy rain, the next very sunny and mild. The forecasters had ‘promised’ a heatwave by the end of the week, but I’m guessing they just mean London. If it ain’t happening in London, then it ain’t happening. That’s my interpretation anyway. It’s sunny here today with some light winds, but 15C doesn’t make it a heatwave in my opinion.
Work has been pretty busy with me getting in early most days to set up cameras for recording a training session. I’ve only managed to pop home once this week for lunch due to the workload, however it’s been offset by being able to go home early. When I was a shift worker my favourite shift was 7am to 3.30pm. I’d happily work that shift for evermore. I’m a naturally early riser, and getting the work day over with is my idea of heaven. It used to leave plenty of time for shopping after work, or housework, or just time to chill in the garden.
When I was on flexi time, in the civil service, I mostly worked 7.30am to around 4pm with just half hour for lunch. That way I was able to sort out any computer issues before most started at 9am, and I never ever got snarled up in the rush hour traffic. Bliss!
After stating in my last blog that none of my family keeps a cat I found out that my niece has bought a cat. She lives with my parents – her grandparents, and they now have 2 barely trained dogs, a cat, numerous mice, guinea pigs, possibly a snake or two if they still have them, tortoises, and goodness knows what else. The place smells, the animals and my niece run riot, and my Mum seriously wonders why people rarely visit.
Speaking of cats, when I get home I have to clean up cat cr*p from my garden and the mess that someone’s dog, not mine (!) have left at the end of my footpath. I never let my dog mess in other people’s property, and always clean up any mess he leaves in our garden and of course if out walking. It makes me mad that I have to clean up mess from other people’s animals!
Today I’ve been mostly going through my in trays – I have 5 lol, and sorting out anything remotely ‘interesting’ or sensitive so that I can lock it away. Recently people, including me, have reported that someone has been going through our office and some items have been taken. Our offices are supposed to be secure and it’s not nice knowing somebody has been riffling through my ‘stuff.’ I’ve only left out ‘boring’ stuff now and scrap paper; nothing that anyone might want, hopefully.
Have a great weekend. I hope we all have some decent sunshine so we can ‘play’ outside in the fresh air.

As for Heatwaves, well we've not be promised or threatened with such nice weather as of yet.
Last summer in July we had a few days of 45 C about 113 F i think but that was then.
Today is rather like yesterday, sunny and breezy.
Animal droppings.
Not much can be done about Cats but most of them do bury there visiting cards, not nice if they happen to use your flower or vegetable patch though.
Dogs are a different matter, owners of dogs should be obliged by law to carry plastic bags and a trowel to clean up after their pets, they are here and most do obey.
Hope you get some better weather soon.
John.
It's the law here too to clean up dog mess. Some don't do it though. To get them prosecuted you have to catch them at it.
Bernie - Ooh a sweaty muscular man... I need a lie down now lol.
Not possible to change the locks, though I have had everyone except a named few barred from accessing this room now. Some won't like that; I don't care lol

I'd hate it if my garden was being pooped on with other peoples' pets. Only Pippin uses the garden for his 'business' as Boo uses her litter trays. As for dogs - none around here. When I go to the beach though, I do see owners following their little pooches with black bags to scoop up their leavings.
It's been 13C today which is cold - it's the first week of June for heaven's sake and I feel cold.
Stormlizard club has replied to Jenny McIntyre clubPeople are rude with their animals at times. Here also it is the law to pick up after but obviously some will always try to get away with it. Especially if they know no one's to see..
Every year we have to reseed parts of the lawn because someone thinks it's ok for their animal to make a spot on our lawn their personal bathroom.. How will things change once I retire next year hmm???
I have had people take things out of my drawer.. I don't usually mind as long as they put it back.. I can lock my drawers but I usually forget.. I want out of here at 5pm!
Don't expect good weather anytime soon Ellen has just bought two recliner/chairs for the garden
Jenny - We have locks, and you can only access the room with a special pass, which means it's someone we know!
Gracie - I always lock my drawer too when I'm not there. Not nice when other people's animals use your lawn as their toilet. Some people's manners beggar belief.
Mick - That is bad news lol. Pretty nice here Sunday morning and looks like being a lovely day. Saturday was cold and we had some torrential showers - almost like a monsoon! Heatwave it isn't...
Summer - I work 8.30am to 5pm, such a drag. I have to fit in with classroom needs and classes start at 9am.
