Some Enchanted Evening
Metropolitan Opera star Ezio Pinza and Mary Martin first sang "Some Enchanted Evening" on the Broadway stage in the original production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "South Pacific" in 1949.
But the first recording was probably by Frank Sinatra & Rosemary Clooney. "Some Enchanted Evening" was released in the same year it hit New York City.
The Jay & the Americans (Jay Black aka David Blatt, Howard "Kane" Kirchenbaum, Kenny "Vance" Rosenberg and Sandy "Deanne" Yaguda) top twenty cover was a follow-up to the successful "Cara Mia" in 1965. If you get the chance to see "American" "Kenny Vance and the Planotones on stage, don't miss them!
