'Til There Was You
An earlier version of "Till There Was You" titled "Till I Met You" was recorded in 1950 by an original star of Your Hit Parade, Eileen Wilson.
Sue Raney and the Nelson Riddle Orchestra recorded the original "Till There Was You" in 1957 before the Broadway show opened.
Broadway's favourite ingenue, Barbara Cook appeared in and won a Tony Award for her portrayal of Marianne the Librarian in the 1957 introduction of "The Music Man". Barbara recorded "Till There Was You" (Meredith Wilson) for the 1958 soundtrack. She's also the recipient of a Grammy and has been cited as a Living New York Landmark.
Anita Bryant's cover reached the top twenty in 1959.
