Respect
Otis Redding wrote and recorded "Respect" in 1965 and got well into the top forty. It's on the album "Otis Blue/Otis Redding Sings Soul" produced by Steve Cropper of Booker T & the MGs.
Aretha Franklin's cover with sisters Erma and Carolyn in the background was issued in 1967 on the album "I Never Loved A Man The Way I Love You". "Respect" topped the chart and has been listed in the top of Rolling Stone's 500 greatest songs of all time.
