In 1967 "The Killer", Jerry Lee Lewis, cousin of television evangelist Jimmy Swaggart was the first to record "Just Dropped In (to see what condition my condition was in) . The rock legend made a more than credible effort on this anti-drug tune but it wasn't released.

Mickey Newbury composed "Just Dropped In" and it's on his 1968 album "Harlequin Melodies". This is the same writer who gave us the medley, "An American Trilogy".

Kenny Rogers and the First Edition recorded "Just Dropped In" in 1968 and took it into Billboard's top ten. The song is most uncharacteristic for Kenny Rogers, the First Edition and composer Mickey Newbury.
