The Van Passel Brothers (Eddy and Danny) recorded an unreleased demo of "If We Can Start All Over" in 1993. Following in excess a decade regarding plagiarism the Brussels Supreme Court ruled that at least three quarters of "If We Can Start All Over" can be heard in "You Are Not Alone" so the entirety of all rights are due to the brothers. The twins are authors, composers, producers and music publishers.

R. (Richard) Kelly contributed "You Are Not Alone" to the Michael Jackson repertoire at Michael's request. This version was recorded after Michael's death for the 2010 LP "Love Letter" as a tribute to Michael. The track was a bonus hidden selection on the cd.

R. Kelly produced the hit for Michael Jackson's chart topping "You Are Not Alone" (R. Kelly) from the 1995 album "HIStory: Past, Present And Future: Book 1". The icon's single debuted at number one on Billboard and topped the U.K. charts.
