Donna Summer (LaDonna Gaines) and her husband wrote "Starting Over Again" (Donna Summer - Bruce Sudano) when Bruce's parents separated after thirty years of being married.
Actress, singer, songwriter and all too talented Dolly Parton watched Donna sing this on The Tonight Show and called her requesting to record the song. Dolly topped the Country chart and hit the pop listing at number thirty-six in 1980 with "Staring Over Again". This is from the album "Dolly, Dolly, Dolly".
