The first single released by Barry Manilow (Pincus) was "Amy" by Featherbed featuring Barry and it was written by the same two composers of "Daybreak" (Barry Manilow - Adrienne Anderson). The song "Daybreak" first appeared on the 1976 studio album "This One's For You". Adrienne co-wrote "Could It Be Magic" and Dionne Warwick's "Deja Vu" with Isaac Hayes.
The hit version of "Daybreak" featured backing trio Lady Flash (Reparata aka Lorraine Mazzola, Debra Byrd and Monica Page) on the 1977 quadruple platinum album "Live". The 45 r.p.m. issue peaked at number twenty-three on Billboard pop and number seven Adult Contemporary. This rated higher on other American and Canadian charts.
