Bobby Hebb sings "A Natural Man" (Bobby Hebb - Sandy Baron). Bobby Hebb's parents were both blind musicians in Nashville while Bobby and his brother Harold were a song and dance team. Co-author Sandy Baron (Beresofsky) was a comedian of note who opened for the likes of Neil Diamond, Diana Ross, Steve and Eydie. Sandy co-starred in the television shoe "Hey, Landlord". His songwriting abilities included Adam Wade's "Writing On The Wall".
Three time Grammy winner with that silky distinctive voice, Lou Rawls hit with "A Natural Man" in 1971 when the single reached the top twenty on Billboard's pop, R&B and Easy Listening charts. Sidney Poitier was Lou's best man at his first marriage. On his website "It was during a tour of the South with (Sam) Cooke and The Travelers that a serious car accident nearly ended his career and his life. One passenger was killed, Cooke was slightly injured and Rawls was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital. Although he slipped into a coma for five-and-a-half days, suffered memory loss and didn't completely recovered for a year."
