Larry Weiss and Scott English wrote "Help Me Girl". This is Larry's version from the album "Cuts And Scratches". Larry also wrote or co-wrote "Rhinestone Cowboy", "Mr. Dream Merchant" and "Bend Me, Shape Me". Scott (Sheldon) English co-composed "Bend Me, Shape Me' and "Mandy" that hit for Barry Manilow.
"Help Me Girl" was a transitional single due to the fact that it was after the breakup of the original Animals and the formation of the new line-up with Vic Briggs, John Weider and Danny McColloch. In fact, the only Animal on this session besides Eric Burdon was drummer Barry Jenkins. The rest of the parts on this song were played by session musicians. The single reached into the top thirty at number twenty-nine.
