Prentiss Polk recorded "Hit Record" (Sibelius Williams) in 1961. Prentiss once sang with doo-wop group Malcolm Dodds (Williams) and The Tunedrops (Prentiss Polk, Bill Glover and Danny Simmons).
Brook Benton (Benjamin Peay) covered "Hit Record" in 1962 as produced by Shelby Singleton. The single is on the album "Golden Hits Volume 2". The song charted at number forty-five and hit the top twenty R&B but it's posted because I find it so stranger that Brook would chose such a novelty offering while he wrote and produced so many other success in a varied catalogue.
