"Dead Ringer" was a 1981 album released by singer, actor and Grammy winner Meat Loaf (Marvin Aday). One of the few tracks on the issue was "Read 'em And Weep" (Jim Steinman) with the talents of the composer and Todd Rundgren on back-up. Wikipedia: "Meat Loaf relates a story in his autobiography, To Hell and Back, about how he, a friend, and his friend's father drove out to Love Field to watch John F. Kennedy land. After watching him leave the airport, they went to Market Hall, which was on Kennedy's parade route. On the way, they heard that Kennedy had been shot, so they headed to Parkland Hospital, where they saw Jackie Kennedy get out of the car and Governor John Connally get pulled out, although they never saw the president taken out."

Grammy, Tony and Emmy winner Barry Manilow's (Pincus) cover of "Read 'em And Weep" was on his LP "Greatest Hits, Vol ll". The single topped the Billboard AC charts and peaked at eighteen on the pop listing. Wikipedia: "To help in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, for every US dollar donated by his fans to the American Red Cross through the Manilow Fund for Health and Hope website, Manilow personally matched, and the fund itself also matched, tripling the original donation. The fund delivered $150,000 in less than 48 hours to the American Red Cross, and hoped to raise a grand total of $300,000."
