Please excuse another indulgence. In the late fifties and into the sixties The Beau Marks (Joey Frechette, Ray Hutchinson, Mike Robitaille and Gilles Tailleur) were a unique Canadian group as they wrote, financed and produced their music in their native country. The first track is the rare original recording of "Clap Your Hands" Beau-Marks).

The next track is the hit that reached Billboard in the mid-forties position and top forty in Cashbox in 1960 while topping the Canadian and Australian charts. This included the hand clapping when it was released in the U.S.

In 1962 the Beau Marks recorded "Clap Your Hands Once Again" (G. Tailleur - J. Frechette - M. Robitaille - R. Hutchinson) in Montreal. The group was apparently the first Canadian group to appear on the Ed Sullivan Show and hit the stage at NYC's Peppermint Lounge.
