The Foundations (Lead vocalist Colin Young, Eric Allendale, Pat Burke, Tony Gomez, Tim Harris, Peter Macbeth and Allan Warner) recorded "That Same Old Feeling" (Tony Macaulay - John Macleod) in 1969 for the LP "Digging The Foundations" as produced by the composers.
A re-working of the song done by The Fortunes (Rod Allen, Glen Dale and Barry Pritchard) as "Same Old Feeling" came from their 1969 album "It's The Real Thing" which was issued only to Coca-Cola employees attending a convention in Houston.
In 1969 Pickettywitch (lead vocalist Polly Brown, Martin Bridges, Bob Brittain, Keith Hall, Mike Tomich and Chris Warren) issued "That Same Old Feeling" from their self-titled debut album. This resulted in a top twenty hit in several countries including their native U.K. where it peaked at number five. Versions by The Fortunes and Pickettywitch were released the same month to the U.S. market where both releases relatively failed on the charts missing the Billboard top forty as they cancelled each other out. Pickettywitch did better on the charts and made the Billboard Easy Listening chart top forty.
