From the LP "La La Peace Song" "O.C. (Ocie) Smith was first to record "La La Peace Song" (Johnny Bristol - Elizabeth Martin) in 1973. It was re-released months later and entered the Billboard chart stalling at number sixty-two pop and thirty-six Adult Contemporary. Writer Johnny Bristol produced both the O.C. Smith and Al Wilson issues. O.C. worked as a singer with Horace Heidt, Sy Oliver and Count Basie.

From the LP "La La Peace Song" Al Wilson "La, La, Peace Song" reached the Billboard top thirty in 1974 and peaked at number nineteen on the R&B chart. This was the most successful of the two releases. Sales of both recordings suffered because of each other.
