Multi- award winner Michel Legrand sings "Les Moulins de Mon Cœur" (Michel Legrand - Eddy Marney) recorded in 1969.
"The Windmills of Your Mind" (Michel Legrand -Alan Bergman - Marilyn Bergman) with the English lyric appeared in the 1968 film "The Thomas Crown Affair" starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunnaway. The song was commissioned for a particular scene by director Norman Jewison. This won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1968. Noel Harrison, son of Rex, recorded the original after Andy Williams decided against it. The Noel Harrison version peaked at number eight in the U.K. Noel represented Great Britain as a member of their ski team in both the 1952 and 1956 Winter Olympics.
Dusty Springfield's (Mary O'Brien) 1969 album "Dusty In Memphis" includes the American hit cover of "Windmills Of Your Mind". The single peaked in the Billboard top forty and number three on the Easy Listening chart. The album was recorded in Memphis but her final vocals were done in New York City.
