The Valentinos (lead vocal Bobby Womack with brothers Cecil, Curtis, Friendly Jr. and Harry) "Lookin' For A Love" (J. W. Alexander - Zelda Samuels) peaked at number eight on the R&B chart and got to seventy-two on the Billboard pop chart in 1962. The song was on Sam Cooke's SAR label and produced by Sam himself.

In 1973 Bobby Womack used "Lookin' For A Love" as a vocal warm-up and recorded the song in one take with his brothers backing him along with The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section. The next year it became his first number one R&B hit also reaching number ten pop! The single is a track on the album "Lookin' For A Love Again".
